In October 2023, the latest version of the list of precautions for carrying items on trains was released: lithium batteries can be carried on board, but they must be clearly marked and the rated energy of a single battery must not exceed 20,000 mAh.
On November 2, 2023, the National Railway Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. issued guidance on the railway transportation of consumer lithium battery cargo.
